Album Review- Nicki Minaj- Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded
The most impressive artist on Young Money/Cash Money is Nicki Minaj by far. Very attractive and off-beat yet still skillful, she has been intriguing since she first came out looking like Lil Kim on her first infamous promo poster. Years later, her style has switched up, she has become more popular, doing songs with Madonna and everyone else, because I mean when Madge is calling you and including

Album Review-Young Jeezy- TM103 Hustlerz Ambition
So one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2011 has to be Young Jeezy and the return of his Thug Motivation with TM103. pushed back a couple of times, Jeezy may not have had the outward buzz that Defjam was looking for, but the streets have still been clamoring to see what the Snowman brings in his return. Here is my album review of Young Jeezy TM103: Hustlerz Ambition.

Album Review- Pusha T- Fear of God II
Look I thought this was another mixtape so I didn't even look at the track list. This is the album version of the mix tape though and it shows that much of the street release was good enough to be turned into a studio album in your stores. There are minimal changes if you already have it, but it's only right to show Push some official love.

Top 55 of all time? - Part 1
So NC-17 wants me to post my top ten Dead or Alive rappers so he can pick at my list with a stick and drive my blood pressure up. Hard to believe I haven't done anything like this in these years I've been doing this blog. So before I get into what is actually going to be a top 55 breakdown from my perspective, I probably need to give a clue as to how I'm coming about with my selections.

Album Review- Snoop Dogg- The Doggumentary
Snoop Dogg is a hip-hop icon and the biggest G to be accepted into every white person's home in America, C-walking and shilling Pepsi Max all the while still rocking a perm and Chuck Taylors. Snoop is back with his 11th album in what is now almost a two decades old mainstream rap career in 2011 trying to be the first household name to make a dent in an anemic 2011 for records.

So let's talk another stupid list
BET dropped its list of the top 10 rappers of the 21st century (like we don't know that it's only been 10 years). Once again we have a bunch of people who are kissing ass and not being critical enough of their peers. Taking away Jay-z for no apparent reason other than to not have be named number 1 at something else. Fine I can take that but when i looked at the rankings I noticed that it is

Jay on that BS again...
Now I have always been a Jay-z fan but honestly, dude has plenty of fuck up moments which show off the flaws in his character. Now, I'm not expecting him to be perfect by any means, it's ridiculous to think of that. However, there are things that he says or does that come across in his raps that show me signs of him that I don't like in what friends I do have. One, dude is arrogant about his

Album Review- Plies- Goon Affiliated
Plies is one of those love em or hate em guys and you probably can tell where I stand on the subject. Honestly, his success has surprised the hell out of me but in today's industry, charisma counts more than actual lyrical ability or song-writing. Plies has been able to get the interest of the female section of the population by flashing money and walking around with his shirt off.

Jay-z ain't right
So the only two songs I listen to on Drake's album are the one with Nicki Minaj-for her verse, and "Light Up" for Jay-z's verse. Thelatter just exposes a trend that Jay has been doing for a while now successfully, having the hot artist do something minimal on his album then he goes on their album and shits all over their hood, skills, and credibility. Let's check the record here first victim, Lil

Honorable Mention
In my last post I talked about the top 5 albums of the last decade. I know there are going to be people who feel like my list wasn't the best it could be. I decided against doing a top 10 for one reason, it's wack. Sometimes to really see the cream rise you have to eliminate things and if you look at the list, those albums really had a significant impact. In the interest of extending this and

Album Review- Jay-z- Blueprint 3
So the most highly anticipated album of the year's release is finally upon us as Jay-Z's the Blueprint 3 is just around the corner. Jay is looking to once again dominate the hip-hop headlines and charts, and judging of fof the buzz both good and bad from D.O.A. and Run this Town he is well positioned to do just that. Now I earlier wrote a blog about having high expectations for artists like Jay-z

D.O.A.
So the hype for this weekend will be without a doubt the new buzz created by Jay-z's new track D.O.A., or death of autotune. I'll admit this is not a bad joint, it's Jay doing some his better work in the past two years. So after listening to the joint about 10 times in a row, I can say, it's pretty good but not great. Here is why, Jay isn't saying anything that hundreds of unsigned rappers, plenty

Whats in a name?
One of the possible details that can be overlooked when albums an album is thought of, recorded, and released is the title. Some of them make a stir and are intentional like last year when Nas decided to title his disc "Nigger". Unfortunately it never came to fruition due to label and retail bureaucracy and we were left with:It's funny, a close associate of mine was joking with me about who

Finding My Lane
Now I have been perusing other hip-hop blogs recently to check out the competition and to share love when it is deserving. Most of the blogs I have seen have'nt seen as much original commentary and/or ideas that I would like.Seeing that and looking at some of my opinions/criticisms of hip-hop culture and music would leave people to see me as some sort of new-age hipster or overtly conscious type

Why Jeezy why?
Now the above is the video for Young Jeezy's "My President is Black" which features Nas. On the one hand I am grateful for the effort and lyrics jeezy was able to put into this attempt. It solidifies his position as the next generation's Ice Cube. Yes, I am going to go ahead and let him have the title he is working towards, I do see where he has some improvement in the area and is making an
