I stopped off with an odd number because having like 11 or 12 posts for this might be a tad much suspense but I'm back with part 3 of the countdown.
43. Eve - The pitbull in a skirt blew onto the scene with Ruff Ryders and threw down the female rap gauntlet. The last in the golden era for female rappers, Eve's first album was pretty good and the subsequent two solid but not great. She had the

Album Review- Joell Ortiz- Free Agent
So Joell has been one of my favorite emcees for the past couple of years. He has blessed plenty of beats with his raw skills and even dropped a mixtape I liked where he rapped over classic tracks. However, I have been worried that he wouldn't be able to translate the lyrics into cohesive concepts for an album though I have been hoping the Slaughterhouse cd was a reflection of what he could do on

Album Review- Fat Joe- The Darkside Vol. 1
So flying under the radar even more than usual, is Fat Joe who seems to feel the need to release an album every year. This time, it is titled the Darkside Vol 1., so this seems to be the first in a planned series. Unlike precious releases, Joe doesn't even have a big single to help at least get some promotion for the album.

New Singles Review
Here is something else I want to do more of, just talk about what new songs are popping up. Honestly though, I won't be providing links because I don't want to get into those issues. If you want to find it, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to.
First up today/tonight is a new song from Fat Joe featuring The Clipse and Cam'ron, "Kilo". I know how original for these guys right? Honestly, I'm not a

Album Review- Fat Joe - J.O.S.E. 2
So we all know that Fat Joe has had some sort of career resurgence (in his own mind) since he moved his operation to Miami and joined forces with the Southern movement. Unlike Rick Ross, Joe's beefing with 50 Cent hasn't led to anything positive in terms of attention and record sales to date. That aside, Joe will be known as one of the original NY gangster rappers and to that affect, he titles

Posse Songs used to be Hot
Now I actually have a cd of "Posse Cuts", songs where you have a group of people who aren't in a group on the same song. What has gotten me upset you might say? For one this new song from Drake, Wayne, Kanye and Eminem is a pure disappointment. Take a listen for yourself. This might not be here for long, but what I get is a jumble of mess. There is no big theme to the song or point to it, just

Memorial For Big Pun
Now I feel bad. We always remember Biggie and Pac as hip-hop icons. It always seems like we miss out on and forget about Big Pun. I know Pac always gets thug love and the rumors of his imminent return from faking his death as well as the many verses he recorded to keep him in our thoughts. As for Biggie, well he just had a movie and there is always Puffy to remind us of B.I.G. .But who holds it

Ed Lover Sheds some Light
Now I can't really speak on the exact topic that Ed is covering although near the end as he talks about the competition in New York between Hot 97 and Power 105. He talks about how people he helped get into the game turned and decided to talk greasy or spew hate at him for moving to the new station. This shows a lot about hip-hop culture as it stands today. There is a lack of respect in the game

The Local Responsibility problem
Beginning tomorrow, my local radio station 92q (92.3 WERQ FM) plans to start playing the Ricky Smiley radio show in the morning after letting go our local morning team. Now Baltimore is a top 30 market which means we deserve to have our own programming and stations. The biggest problem is our proximity to Washington DC which further fragments the selection because we can get DC stations which are
